Fighting Fraud 2011 - Final Key Speakers Confirmed
| If you haven’t yet confirmed attendance at this year's event we thought that we should update you on the final speaker confirmations. We are delighted to announce the acceptance of David Magor OBE as the keynote speaker for the event, as well as John Fitzpatrick of the DWP. We hope that this will be the first official chance for John to discuss the results of the options paper and the progress of the SFIS. David will no doubt enlighten us with his thoughts on SFIS and discussions he has had with ministers. | ![]() |
To remind you, the event is taking place on the 15th and 16th December 2011. This is a full 2 day event with a packed agenda, incorporating tenancy fraud, corporate and local taxation discussions. With the key people from DWP, NFA and the Audit Commission present we will bring together many of the topics covered at a number of other events that are being held. Please see our agenda and booking form here.

Ensuring Personal Information is secure is a legal requirement
Many Local authorities have their own list of customers who may pose a threat to their members of staff. These lists/databases are known under various guises;
- Potentially Violent Person Registers
- Hazardous Contact Database
- Dangerous Customer Warning Systems
- Caution Before Contact List
Regardless of the name they all amount to the same thing. A list that provides your employees with the information they need before, they meet the person in question. Let’s not forget that it is every employer’s legal right to provide a safe and health working environment for their employee’s. If your organisation doesn’t have such a register then you and your colleagues could be exposed to dangerous people without even knowing it.
However simply having a list/database is not enough, how to you protect the data that’s held on your register.
INTEC’s Fraud Benchmarking goes National
|
INTEC’s fraud benchmarking software is now being rolled out on a national basis. In conjunction with LAIOG we are offering a free trial of the software to every local authority for a limited time only. |
We have already had several Local Authorities taking advantage for this trial and their accounts have now been activated.
