Fife Council has recently started to use our InCase Intelligence software to manage their Anti Social behaviour cases. As part of their internal assessment they decided to carry out a survey of the fife area, to gauge people’s thoughts on the work they have been doing. |
It was decided that paper based questionnaires were not the most cost effective way to carry out the survey as there will only be a few questions. From our experience as well we were aware that the response rate to a paper questionnaire was not good.
Fife needed something that would get a reasonable response rate from the community, in a way that could be easily analysed. We approached Fife and offered the managed service outlined below.
- They would record a voice message asking the questions they required (e.g. “Do you think the anti social behaviour in your area has decreased over the past 6 months. Press ‘1’ for YES, or press ‘2’ for NO)
- Once the message was recorded INTEC tested the response here at our offices to ensure the questions were clear and easy to follow.
- A new message was then recorded, based on the feedback given. We were then ready to send the broadcast.
- INTEC identified approximately 2,900 contact numbers from our national database that we could broadcast to.
- The broadcast was then sent out on two different occasions to maximise the responses given.
- Once the broadcasts were completed we analysed the results and sent a detailed report to Fife. This included the number of responses given and the answers they gave.
